a sweet muscial story about the colour brown by Ken Nordine

Karen Haller
Poor brown does seem to get a bad rap. There’s even a Winston Churchill quote stating “I cannot pretend to feel impartial about colours. I rejoice with the brilliant ones and am genuinely sorry for the poor browns.”
The American voice over and jazz musician Ken Nordine has created music and lyrics that capture the essence of the colours. Here is his wonderful short video about the colour brown at just 1:33 minutes. Taken from his jazz album “Colours”.

Love to know you think about putting music to colour. After watching this cute video, what do you think now of the colour brown?
Ha ha! This is wonderful! What a find Karen! Thank you for being the Colour Queen. x
Isn’t it just the cutest musical video. I’ve lost count the number of times I’ve played it. Love the translation of colour into sound. And I love jazz too…

This short video elevates brown to a new status for me. I love brown, it is a beautiful colour, with so many wonderful shades and hues. Chocolate brown is rich and textural. Tan brown, reminds me of a good pair of brogues and chestnut brown leather handbags are to die for.
Cool share, thanks Karen.

Yeah, another fan of brown. As this cute video implies brown does get a bit of a bad rap. Different tones for different purposes… spot on!
Delightful and super cute!
What a brilliant find Karen – I love it (and the jazz)! I love brown – it’s such an easy colour, cosy and cool at the same time – just wonderful.
They are the cutest videos. Love how clever he is putting sound to colour!
