Meet The Colour Trail exhibitors Decorex 2023

Karen Haller

Decorex has been and gone and what a brilliant four-day event it was. The highlights for me were seeing the launch of The Colour Trail and meeting the inspiring exhibitors selected for it, and being part of the standing-room only colour panel discussion on the opening day.
The Colour Trail is something I approached Decorex with earlier this year and I am so proud of how it turned out. The idea was to showcase exhibitors who embrace the power of colour in their designs alongside their sustainability credentials by creating a trail that took you on a colourful journey past their stands as you walked through Decorex.

Choosing who would be on The Colour Trail was more than a one-person job, so I teamed up with interior designer and good friend Simon Hamilton to select the 16 exhibitors who were part of this year’s first Colour Trail.
At the event it was exciting for us to walk the trail and actually meet each of the exhibitors in person to congratulate them on being chosen and it was wonderful to see how genuinely honoured they were for being selected.
We loved having the opportunity to chat with them and delve deeper into their colour and sustainability back story and discover their future plans. We ended up chatting so much we didn’t make it around The Colour Trail on the first day (Sunday), so had to come back on the Tuesday which tied in perfectly with the evening VIP party Decorex invited us to.
And our Colour Trail ‘Best in Show’ is…
It was a tough decision, but Simon and I awarded ‘Best in Show’ to Curiousa for their exceptional use of colour and unwavering commitment to sustainability principles at every stage of their design process. Their colourful and eco-conscious designs demonstrated a remarkable dedication to a greener future in the world of business and design.
Here Simon and I are with Curiousa’s founder and creative director Esther Patterson, who we also invited onto our colour panel discussion.

Snapshots from The Colour Trail
In case you didn’t make it to Decorex, I’m pleased to introduce you to some more of the wonderful exhibitors below.
As you scroll through the photos, you’ll notice that not every exhibitor used bright, vibrant and vivid colour. That wasn’t the aim of The Colour Trail. It was to celebrate companies that use colour as a core part of their design, meaning not as an afterthought, or just for aesthetics or because it’s ‘on trend’.
If you would like to find out more about any of them, all you need to do is click on the image and you’ll be taken to their website.
Did you make it to Decorex this year? Did you walk the Colour Trail? I’d love to know your favourite. Let me know in the comments below.
And if you have an event coming up and would like to discuss how to make colour the core feature of your event, then send me an email.
Colourfully yours,
Karen
