world’s most unusual hotels… wanderlust hotel
Karen Haller
In the fourth of my world’s most unusual hotels series, I’m featuring the Wanderlust hotel, located in Little India, Singapore.
The owner of this four storey boutique hotel gave four design agencies an entire floor each and full creative freedom to design whatever they wanted. And design they did, letting their imaginations run wild, resulting in four ‘in-your-face’ themes – ‘Industrial Glam’, ‘Eccentricity’, ‘Is it just black and white?’ and ‘Creature Comforts’. This concept was the brainchild of hip hotelier Loh lik Peng.
Next time you’re down Singapore way on a stop over, this hotel would be well worth checking out. It’s all a bit surreal, like an adult’s Alice In Wonderland.

Very nice! I love the stenciled art installations, interesting way to expand the space. Neat hotel! Thanks for enlightening.
Hi Lisa,
It certainly is. And definitely a hotel full of personality!
I am not sure I could sleep or spend too much time in the Pantone rooms but I too love the black and white…I really like the eclectic public spaces and the use of texture
It’s certainly an intense colour experience!
